| You talk like Marlene Dietrich And you dance like Zizi Jeanmaire Your clothes are all made by Balmain And there's diamonds and pearls in your hair, yes there are
You live in a fancy appartement Of the Boulevard of St. Michel Where you keep your Rolling Stones records And a friend of Sacha Distel, yes you do
But where do you go to my lovely When you're alone in your bed Tell me the thoughts that surround you I want to look inside your head
I've seen all your qualifications You got from the Sorbonne And the painting you stole from Picasso Your loveliness goes on and on, yes it does
When you go on your summer vacation You go to Juan-les-Pines With your carefully designed topless swimsuit You get an even suntan, on your back and on your legs
When the snow falls you're found in St. Moritz With the others of the jet-set And you sip your Napoleon Brandy But you never get your lips wet, no you don't
But where do you go to my lovely When you're alone in your bed Tell me the thoughts that surround you I want to look inside your head, yes I do
Your name is heard in high places You know the Aga Khan He sent you a racehorse for chistmas And you keep it just for fun, for a laugh a ha ha
They say that when you get married It'll be to a millionaire But they don't realize where you came from And I wonder if they really care, or give a damn
But where do you go to my lovely When you're alone in your bed Tell me the thoughts that surround you I want to look inside your head
I remember the back streets of Naples Two children begging in rags Both touched with a burning ambition To shake off their lowly brown tags, yes they try
So look into my face Marie-Claire And remember just who you are Then go and forget me forever 'Cause I know you still bear the scar, deep inside, yes you do
I know where you go to my lovely When you're alone in your bed I know the thoughts that surround you 'Cause I can look inside your head | | |

| The more things change the more they stay the same. My trip home was interesting, full of bittersweet moments and experiences. First of all the Phillies made the playoffs! It was a roller coaster ride over the final weekend but in the end the Phightins pulled out a win on Sunday while the Mets got smoked by the Fish. So for the first time in 14 years the Phillies would be playing October baseball, but it didn't last long. We got swept in the first round in three distinctly one-sided games. So it felt good to listen to the familiar sounds of fans ranting and raving on 610 WIP on the ride home from the games. Also I had a girl who liked me (i think) which is a rare and momentous occasion, but I proceeded to blow it which returned things to business as usual. I had two pretty hefty swings and misses earlier in the trip but I think I fouled a pitch off to stay alive today. But I'm definitely down in the count. I'm going back to Memphis later tonight and I really want the next six weeks to fly by so I can get back here. Despite all the drama and hopes gone unfulfilled (temporarily at least) I was happier this week than I have been in a long time ... going to have to chase that feeling ... | | |
| This afternoon is going to be really busy so I'm getting all my laziness in this morning. I'm going home this Saturday which I'm really looking forward to. I have to leave for Nashville at 2 in the morning in order to catch my 7 AM flight, which I am less excited for but it should be okay. Whenver I get down on the drive I'll just keep reminding myself that I saved 200 bucks by flying out of Nashville. I came to the realization the other day that I really miss being home. I mean I miss my friends and family like crazy and I can't wait to see them but I'm also really going to enjoy the little things like turning on WMMR and hearing Pierre Robert introduce the work force blocks, or watching Daily News Live on ComcastSportsnet, or driving up to Anthony's for a cheesesteak. I never knew home had so much to do with feeling and so little to do with geographic location. I hope it still feels like home. Regardless I get to to to 6 Flags, the Renaissance Faire and hang out with Eagles fans at bars so the trip will be sweet. I will also enjoy having food in the fridge because mine more often than not is pretty bare. Tonight I'll probly hit up a bar to watch the Phills and the Bravos, the Phillies are really close to making the playoffs but I doubt we will. I've been down this road before and I'm not getting my hopes up. The BestBuy Gravy Train continues: Knocked Up: The 2-Disc Collectors Edition (which I exhausted last night by watching the film, the commentary track, the deleted/extended scenes, the gag reels, the video diaries and two featurettes ... I might have a problem) Death Proof - The Soundtrack Pearl Jam - Live at the Gorge (which is 3 shows totalling 9 cds which I am saving for the ride to Nashville this weekend) | | |
